Realtors, As a realtor, you have an obligation to home-buyers. You should supply the web address of this page to any person who is considering buying a home in this neighborhood and also refer them to Fridley City Hall (as explained on the "Target's deception" page, beneath the bar graph). When I offer something for sell, I give the buyer all the information that I might want to have if I were the buyer. It's a home-buyer's responsibility to conduct research, but it is not their responsibility to be infallible. Target's yard-truck beepers -- though they account for more than 98 percent of the backup beeper noise in this neighborhood -- can easily escape a home-buyer's radar, considering that the yard-truck activity has been occurring about 50 or 60 percent of the time, and much of it in the early morning, late evening and middle of the night. In fact, that is exactly what happened to no fewer than two nice families who recently purchased homes in this neighborhood. They both told me they would like to have known about the beepers prior to making their purchase. If, as a homeowner, you are uncomfortable with any of this, tell City Hall to tell Target that it's time to replace the beepers with broadband white noise alarms. Read all about the effectiveness of those devices on the "Unjustifiable" page. Also, you can still sign and return your petition slip. If your petition slip was damaged by the return-envelope glue, or if you've misplaced it, you can print out a copy by clicking on this link: Click for --> Petition Slip |
